Tattoo Care Instructions

Scabs will form on the freshly engraved tattoo over the next few days. This must heal and fall off on its own. Scratching or other mechanical removal of the scab layer leads to colour pigments being pulled out of the skin and "holes" appearing in the tattoo. The scab layer will fall off by itself in approx. 1-2 weeks.

Please note the following during this time:

  1. Do not remove the first film for the first time until 4 hours have passed.

  2. Wash the tattoo with clear, clean water and carefully remove any colour residue, wound fluids and blood, if necessary clean a second time with pH-neutral soap.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE SHOWER GELS OR SIMILAR!

  3. carefully pat dry with a clean towel.

    IMPORTANT: DO NOT RUB!

  4. carefully apply a thin layer of tattoo ointment or Bepanthen wound ointment with clean hands.

    IMPORTANT: APPLY THINLY, NOT THICKLY!

  • Bathing, sauna and solarium are taboo for the first 4 weeks.

  • Never rub shower gel directly onto a fresh tattoo!

  • Do not use Vaseline, Chapstick, grease cream or moisturiser!

  • Sun, chlorine and salt water are enemies of a good tattoo

  • Sport should also be avoided for the first few days/week(s), as should excessive exertion and sweating!
